Why?

Here's the magic: Simply upload any video of a process – software walkthrough, equipment operation, you name it – and Whale's advanced AI goes to work. It doesn't just transcribe the audio; it analyzes the visuals. That's right, it tracks the movements, clicks, and actions shown in the video.

Whether you're onboarding new hires, training on complex software, or documenting troubleshooting procedures, Whale's video-to-guide feature transforms video content into actionable knowledge.

 How?

  1. Navigate to the top right corner of the screen and use the "+"-icon to get started with importing a video.

    OR
Start from the 3-dotted menu when you are in a playbook.
  2. Select the video you want to use and click next to continue.
  3. Give your new card a title - this where the video and process will land.
  4. Select the location, select next and let the Whale magic happen.
  5. Use as-is or edit where necessary.
Good to know! --> Each step is a header and has a link behind it take takes you straight to the part of the video the step refers to!

Create a Step by Step guide from a Whale screen recorded video

If you have recorded a video with our native screen recorded option and that video landed straight into your card, you will first have to download that video. (more information here as well: How to download a screen recorded video in Whale?)

Once the video has downloaded, you can start with the same process as described on top of this article.

This will create a new card and won't load the steps into the existing card.

We do know that this could run smoother and are looking to fully combine these features. We don't have an ETA on this but the moment we know more, you'll find out in our Product Release Emails!
